Why do you think the bass is the most important instrument?

Well, it’s kind of like the glue in between the drums and the higher end. You know it’s really right in the middle and it plays melody and rhythm. I mean, believe me, I don’t even consider myself a bass player. I don’t even think of myself as a musician, really. [Laughs]
